The University of Ioannina, a medium-sized public Greek University, is located at the outskirts of Ioannina, the capital of the region of Epirus - in north-western Greece. Ioannina is one of the most elegant and interesting cities in the country with long history and tradition in arts, literature and commerce. Bathed by lake Pamvotis, Ioannina is a picturesque traditional city which combines in a unique way the historical memories with the reality of a contemporary town.

The University of Ioannina offers excellence in a broad range of subject areas, including humanities, arts, sciences, technologies, medicine and economics. Among the University's strong points are its high quality student body and first-rate faculty, its attractive campus and its well-established links with the local community.
