The University of Worcester’s tranquil green campus supports a vibrant, well-motivated community of students and staff. The campus has facilities that are modern and continuously improving, and lies within easy walking distance of the historic city of Worcester and its many attractions.
In its Centre for Inclusive Learning Support (CILS), the University of Worcester has staff who are highly experienced in project development and project management. They have led 13 funded projects, including two multi-partner UK projects concerning with improving provision for disabled students, and have extensive links in this field. Its Director, Dr. Val Chapman, has been nationally recognised as a National Teaching Fellow for her work in equal opportunities and supporting disabled students, and she was recently awarded a UNESCO Chair in Special Educational Needs by the University of Qatar. The work of Val and her team is further recognised by the Centre’s inclusion as a partner in the collaborative LearnHigher Centre Of Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL)
The University’s strong partnerships with FE providers gives it an excellent basis for extension into all levels of VET. CILS staff have substantial experience in staff development and quality assurance in the University and throughout UK Higher Education, and were responsible for the creation of the SCIPS web based resource that has provided the foundation for Qatrain.
